Bromine Supply Tightens, NBS/DBDMH Prices Rise – Lock in Orders Early

In Q1 2026, the global bromine market has experienced extreme volatility. Multiple factors, including production cuts at Israel’s ICL, plant shutdowns at Jordan’s JBC due to flooding, and domestic winter environmental restrictions in China, have led to a sharp contraction in global bromine supply. Prices have surged from 34,500 RMB/ton at the start of the year to 42,500 RMB/ton in early February, a 23% increase, and are expected to remain elevated through Q2.

This volatility directly impacts downstream brominated chemicals, especially core products like N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) and 1,3-dibromo-5,5-dimethylhydantoin (DBDMH). As a professional specialty chemical supplier, Nanjing Suru Chemical advises customers:

- Related product prices have been adjusted in response to rising raw material costs.

- Customers with long-term procurement plans are encouraged to lock in prices and delivery schedules early to mitigate future price risks.

- We will prioritize stable supply for core customers through optimized inventory management and production scheduling.
